About Darren Mathews, Ed.D.

I have been a professional educator since 1990. My background includes teaching and coaching at the junior high and high school level, and serving as a high school principal. I have been an assistant professor of education at Harding University since 2019 and presently serve as the Director of the Master of Arts in Teaching program in the Cannon-Clary College of Education. My teaching and interest include school culture and social foundations, school leadership, philosophy of education; and educational psychology. I have taught at the bachelor's and master's levels in our college.

I am active in my community and church. I have served as a teacher, deacon and elder in my church.

My wife, Kim, and I married in 1990, and we have two children, Hannah and Hayden. Kim is a registered nurse in Searcy, Arkansas. We are both 1990 graduates of Harding.
