Abstract
Nearly every slide on this timeline features an embedded 360 Google Map view of a historical music space or venue, and you can click and drag in the view window to explore each space. If you'd like to expand the view of the space, just click on "View on Google Maps." For some of the places, you have the option to explore the space further than just a 360-degree view by moving to other vantage points in the space or rooms in the building. Some of the descriptions contain links to videos containing a tour of the building/space or recording of music performed in the space so you can hear the acoustics. The icons on the left side of the timeline allow you to zoom in, zoom out, or return to the beginning of the entire timeline. A working bibliography for the timeline can be found here: docs.google.com/document/d/1IN… Any comments about the timeline are welcome and should be directed to Dr. Devin Burke (Assistant Professor of Music, University of Louisville) at devin.burke@louisville.edu.
