AbstractThe article presents the authors' insight on the development of an algebraic reasoning task in middle or upper primary classrooms. They highlight the journey made by pre-service teacher Courtney Bridge in developing a useful classroom task for students' engagement in mathematical reasoning. Furthermore, the author mention the use of closed text book questions in Bridge's teaching.
