About Dennis Ganahl

Dr. Dennis Ganahl brings a wide range of professional advertising experience, which spans both academia and industry. He became a professor, researcher, and author after a successful career in advertising, where he did account planning and consumer research for retailer chains, media corporations, Fortune 500 companies, and a creative insight agency. He also owned and published a chain of community newspapers across Missouri.

As a professor, Dennis was one of the authors of the original white paper that introduced Integrated Marketing Communication. He has directed a graduate program in IMC that taught advertising and marketing research, as well as account planning. Besides teaching research design, technique and methodology, Ganahl has taught advertising classes on creative design and copywriting. His research has been published in academic journals, publications, and textbooks, and it’s been presented internationally. His research interests include: creative strategy across all industry sectors; motivation; gender, age, and race portrayal, and materialism.
