About Denise M Jordan

I am passionate about community/public health nursing. I strongly believe in health promotion and disease prevention through education. I don't just talk that talk; I walk it. That's the way I roll. You might find me presenting heart health information at a women's conference, at a church ladies' auxiliary meeting, or an annual sorority event. I might be at a local health fair manning a booth about Safe Sleep and SIDS or you might find me at a barbershop talking about hypertension or smoking cessation to reluctant health care consumers - Black men. This is who I am. This is what I do. And the great thing about my work here at IPFW is that it aligns with my personal beliefs.
*You are your brother's keeper.
*To those whom much is given, much is expected.
*You owe something to the community which fosters you. The nice thing about this is you get to decide how you pay your debt.
I am very engaged in online teaching. In order to be accessible to more, online education is a bridge we must build and I currently teach an online and a hybrid version of Community/Public Health Nursing. To prepare myself for this role, I completed the Online Certification Course offered through Indiana University.
