About Dena Abbott

Dr. Abbott’s professional interests include couples and sex therapy, psychotherapy with secular clients, and relational-cultural therapy. Her primary research interest is minority stress in U.S.-based atheists and, in particular, the impact of outness and anti-atheist stigma on atheists’ psychological and physical well-being. Dr. Abbott is also interested in sexuality education, women’s sexuality and reproductive justice, and sex positivity. She is an active member of the American Psychological Association including Division 17 and Division 17’s Section for the Advancement of Women.
