About Della Hughes Carter, DNP, RN, GNP-BC

Dr. Della Hughes Carter is a nurse practitioner, board certified in geriatrics, and practices in a Family Practice Office. She has taught at the university level since 2004 and is the course coordinator of the DNP practicum courses which includes simulation. She has a broad program of scholarship that includes multiple grants, presentations, and publications. Her expertise includes: health disparities, older adult health, chronic conditions including chronic kidney disease. Dr. Hughes Carter has continuously and actively practiced nursing since 1984.
