The first validated measure of its kind, the Gender Identity Counselor Competency Scale-Revised, provides training programs with an instrument to assess counseling students and faculty’s levels of competence for working with trans*-identified clients. This presentation will provide an overview of the initial validation study of the GICCS-R while also exploring direct application and implementation of this measure in counseling training programs.
