About Deana Brown
Deana Brown is a Librarian and Assistant Professor at Albertsons Library. After serving as the reference and instruction librarian at Santa Fe Community College, she joined the faculty of Albertsons Library in 2014. She has a B.S. in Fine and Applied Arts (Photography and Visual Design) with a minor in Arts Administration from the University of Oregon, and a Masters of Library Science from Emporia State University in Emporia, Kansas.
She is a dedicated and outgoing professional, working in both public and academic libraries since 2004. This breadth of experience makes her a flexible and adaptable librarian. She enjoys helping students navigate the library’s resources, connecting with faculty to ensure student success, and creating engaging and relevant instruction sessions. She is interested in applying user experience principles to library services, investigating the relationship between makerspaces and "failure", and discovering areas where art and design intersect with librarianship.
