About Dawn Shell
Dr. Shell is a full-time educator in the Department of Bio-Medical Sciences at PCOM. She directs courses in the DO and Master's of Biomedical Sciences program and assists in teaching the fundamental bacteriology lectures associated with infectious disease in both programs. In addition to these lectures, she also helps develop and facilitate case conference and team-based learning exercises. Another one of Dr. Shell's primary responsibilities at PCOM involves counseling students that struggle academically. Presently, Dr. Shell serves as Chair of the Student Progress Evaluation Committee (SPEC) for the DO program on the PA campus. She is also a member of the SPEC for the Master's in Biomedical Sciences program. Dr. Shell is heavily involved in developing strategies and programs for the early identification, remediation and retention of struggling students.
