Abstract

Introduce students to the basics of systems analysis, operations research, and mathematical programming methods, and apply these systems analysis techniques to model, design, plan, and manage water resources systems.

The engineer is responsible to plan, design, and manage water resources and other projects so that projects meet client and social purposes, goals and objectives (economic, environmental, social, aesthetic, etc.). Systems analysis tools and methods can help plan and manage scarce resources efficiently to meet single or multiple client and societal objectives.
