About David Simmons

My group employs theory and molecular simulation to advance the rational design of polymers and other advanced soft materials. Our focus is on understanding how to tune molecular packing in order to modify molecular dynamics, mechanical and transport properties, and the glass transition. Specific areas of interest include:
Polymers for use in organic photovoltaics
Structure and dynamics of lipid bilayers
Dynamics of confined flowing polymers and soft materials
Physics of glass formation
