Abstract
This is a short introduction to a symposium on Kant’s Third Critique. The juridical title of the Third Critique is no accident. It address the question of judgment’s legislative power. Judgment in the Third Critique is therefore different from judgment in the First Critique (of Pure Reason), where judgment is not so much a power capable of giving law as it is a function for applying the principles that constitute the understanding. The papers in the symposium address various aspects of the judgments at stake in the Kantian critique.
