Dr. David Calamas is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Georgia Southern University. He joined Georgia Southern in 2013 after receiving a MS and a PhD, both in Mechanical Engineering, from the University of Alabama. Prior to that, he received a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Clemson University. His research interests are in the areas of heat transfer, active and passive thermal management, thermal and fluid transport processes, biologically-inspired designs, and solar energy. He currently teaches undergraduate and graduate lecture and laboratory courses in the areas of heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and thermodynamics.
