DEEP ROOTS MATTER
Agroforestry SW (2020)
  • David A Bainbridge
Abstract
Root systems are an unseen but critically important part of trees and crops. In arid and semi-arid zones roots have to go deep to ensure water is available. Root studies are challenging but have led to new insight into how plants survive, fix nitrogen, and gather nutrients and water.
