About David Swope

Dr. Swope earned his doctorate degree in Cell and Developmental Biology from Thomas Jefferson University. He completed a National Institute of Health funded Teaching Postdoctoral Fellowship at Rutgers University where he received formal training in education and instructed several courses at Minority Serving Institutions. After he finished his postdoctoral fellowship, Dr. Swope joined the Molecular Biology department at Princeton University.

At CMSRU, Dr. Swope will facilitate an Active Learning Group and instruct Cell/Molecular Biology and Embryology to medical students. His research interests are in medical education and the development of student centered learning within the medical curriculum. Additionally, he remains involved in translational research associated with heart development and function.
