Abstract
Custom cowboy boot makers enjoy an elevated status amongst western wear devotees due to their use of handcrafted production and artistry (Beard, 1999, 2005). Still, more academic research must be devoted to this group of highly skilled makers. Extant research conducted on custom cowboy boot making has mainly focused on the history or economy of the industry (Gibson, 2016, 2018). Therefore, this study aims to provide new insights into the marketing practices of contemporary custom cowboy boot makers in Texas.
