Abstract
This research aims to combine secondary sources focusing on specific dimensions of cowboy boots with interviews of bootmakers and firm owners, developing a clearer understanding of the multicultural evolution of this material culture icon. Cowboy boots have been documented in academic research on economic geography, and other studies have examined individual immigrant groups’ boot traditions. However, the current research combines these sources with interview data to develop a more thorough picture of the history and evolution of this apparel product.
