About David Loranger

David Loranger, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor in the Jack Welch College of Business and Technology at Sacred Heart University. His teachings focus on Fashion Marketing. He also has extensive experience in the fashion industry with a 17 year career in luxury retail and design sectors. He owned his own company, The Fashion Collective as well as worked as a Merchandise Manager for Bergdorf Goodman, Saks Fifth Avenue, Barneys New York, and Loro Piana. During that time, Dr. Loranger also taught at Philadelphia University, the University of Minnesota and at the Graduate School at the Fashion Institute of Technology. He is the recipient of the American Collegiate Retailing Association’s 2018 Best Paper and the 2019 ITAA/Intellect Publishing Best Paper Awards. His research interests include generational consumption and marketing of cultural apparel products. Dr. Loranger is the Co-Chair of Reviews for the annual ITAA Conference, supervising the peer review of over 600 submissions.
