Rebutting nonrebuttals : a rejoinder to my critics.

Abstract
"Having produced such a critique I naturally braced for some powerful counter-critiques from the DC. At the same time I heartily welcomed such criticism, hoping that it would test whether my ideas could sustain careful and serious scrutiny. If I had misunderstood the vital issues or overlooked some significant evidence, it would be edifying—both for my own thinking and broader scholarly discourse—to be made aware of such flaws in my argument. Unfortunately, I was left disappointed by the replies proffered by Briggs and Goering/Feins, for they have provided little careful and serious scrutiny of my key ideas. I can only conclude from the absence of substantive and sustained rebuttals that my original critique is thoroughly sound and considerably robust."
