About David E. Clark, MD, MS, MPH

Dr. David Clark practiced surgery at MMC until 2013, and continues as a Faculty Scientist at CORE. He completed his residency in surgery at MMC in 1980, followed by a trauma fellowship at the University of Maryland.  He later earned Master’s degrees in Statistics from the University of Southern Maine and in Public Health from Harvard.

Dr. Clark’s research has generally involved the application of various types of regression models to large databases available from government agencies or professional organizations. He enjoys addressing statistical or data management issues, and has worked with statistical consultants to develop new methods that that can be generalized to related research questions.

Since retirement from clinical practice and completion of injury-related projects funded by the NIH and CDC, Dr. Clark has applied his skills to other research and quality improvement projects, especially (but not exclusively) those associated with the Department of Surgery.
