About Darren Gibson

Darren Gibson is the Collaboration and eResearch Manager at Edith Cowan University. He is also the iVEC @ ECU Facility Director.
Darren previously gained four years of Research Management/Governance experience first managed the Mental Health Research Network in Scotland and also working within the NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde in the field of Clinical Neuroscience Trials Management. Darren has a medicinal chemist background, having more than 8 years in both the UK and New Zealand within oncology, diabetes and HIV research where he gaining extensive experience of drug development and early phase clinical trials.
Darren graduated in Medicinal Chemistry, BSc (hons), from the University of Dundee in 1997 and obtained a PhD in Biological Chemistry from University of St Andrews in 2001. Darren recently completed a LLM in Medical Law and Ethics from De Montfort University, (research thesis on Gene Therapy Clinical Research –the ethical and legal considerations). His research interests include digital technologies within health, clinical trials, data linkage and collaborative relationships.
