About Daniel Tillapaugh

Daniel Tillapaugh, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Counselor Education program at California Lutheran University. Previous to his appointment at CLU, he served as the Post-Doctoral Fellow in Higher Education at the University of Maine. Dan is a graduate of the doctoral program in Leadership Studies at the University of San Diego and earned his M.Ed. from the University of Maryland's College Student Personnel program. He has over 10 years of professional experience as a student affairs administrator prior to becoming a faculty member. His research focuses on intersectionality and social context of higher education, college student leadership development, college men and masculinities, and lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) issues in higher education. From 2012-2016, Dan served as the Chair of the Coalition on Men and Masculinities for ACPA - College Student Educators International. In 2016, ACPA named him an Emerging Scholar Designee.
