About Danielle Babb

My learner-focused attitude and best practice teaching methods enable students to gain a real-world understanding of theory and principles. Excellent social skills help encourage approachability and foster a comfortable learning environment both online and in the classroom. Expertise in delivering complicated topics in a relevant, easy to comprehend consumer and student-focused method and experienced media analyst for major international television networks.

Professional mentor and coach, I have successfully served students in numerous capacities, including faculty mentor, dissertation, and comprehensive examination committee member. I have a solid background and firm understanding of the process required to develop program objectives and map course curriculum to achieve desired student outcomes and have put this into practice as a course developer and review committee member. My goal is to help students see the applicability of course room objectives in their own lives and careers and foster a classroom where critical thinking, professionalism, and sharing is the norm. My belief that every learner has a unique story and professional goals that education can help them accomplish drives my desire to engage with students and model professional practices.

I create a very lively and upbeat classroom environment that is based on strong communication, sharing information, creativity, useful presentations, supplemental material and I provide numerous ways for students to contact me to suit their schedule and technological preferences. I focus on the outcome of student learning and assess whether students achieved course objectives through analysis of their work in a professional setting. I create useful assessment tools and strategies to determine how learning took place in the course, including asking students to share how they have used what they learned in the course in their lives and relating material each unit to their careers, as noted in their week 1 bios. I try to create a feeling of a one-on-one mentoring relationship even in a large online classroom.
