About Dr Daniele Cagnazzi

Dr Daniele Cagnazzi PhD (SCU), MA University of Bologna, Italy
Daniele is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Marine Ecology Research Centre, Southern Cross University. His main research is focus on the impact of anthropocentric activities on marine megafauna with special interest in marine mammals, turtles and elasmobranchs. Originally from Milano, Italy, where he graduated in Environmental Science with specialisation in marine biotic resources in 2005 at University of Bologna. He moved to Australia in 2006 to conduct his PhD at Southern Cross University studying the conservation status and population genetic of Australian Snubfin and humpback dolphins. He is research leader of a large multidisciplinary project "The Capricorn Cetaceans Project" which investigates the population viability, genetic population structure and toxicology status of inshore dolphins in the Great Barrier Reef.
