About Daniel Silverman

Dr. Silverman grew up in the New York area and earned his B.A in psychology at the University of Pennsylvania. After teaching English for two years in Shanghai, he obtained his Ph.D. in linguistics at UCLA. He has published widely on phonology and phonetics, including A Critical Introduction to Phonology: Of Sound, Mind, and Body. He arrived at San José from McGill University in 2007.
