About Daniel Vasiliu

Professor Vasiliu is an associate teaching professor; he teaches writing-intensive and capstone courses in Data Science and Mathematics and oversees student research. He has experience in interdisciplinary collaborations concerning data-driven predictive modeling and inferences. Professor Vasiliu draws from his background to create new courses for data science majors and minors, such as Advanced Applied Machine Learning and Misrepresentations. His teaching philosophy incentivizes active knowledge engagement rather than mere knowledge exposure. Professor Vasiliu also employs a self-developed systematic, modular approach in his courses by including micro-research and open-ended projects to stimulate intellectual curiosity and interest.
