About Daniel A. Smith, Ph.D.
My academic work has to this point focused mainly on the Synoptic Gospels, especially the Sayings Gospel Q, and their literary and compositional features. My doctoral dissertation (published in 2007), my second book, Revisiting the Empty Tomb: The Early History of Easter (2010), and some of my subsequent publications have addressed topics related to the resurrection of Jesus in early Christian thought. Some of my recent publications deal with Marcion and his Gospel text.
My next project takes me out of the Gospels, however, and into the back of the New Testament (and into the second century) with a major study of Jude and 2 Peter.
