Abstract
In the wake of the Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision that has effectively banned abortion in all circumstances in much of the United States,  member of the Catholic hierarchy as well as influential lay leaders have claimed victory for the ‘pro-life’ movement.   However, in a post-Dobbs America, what does being ‘pro-life’ truly mean?   What moral responsibility, especially to women and children, must Catholics/the Catholic Church now accept in its ‘pro-life’ posture,  given the Catholic claim of universal human dignity and the common good?
