About Daniel Gelbmann

Daniel Gelbmann, M.F.A., has worked professionally as properties master for Trollwood Performing Arts School on the productions of Leader of the Pack and Crazy for You. He also co-designed the set for the Gooseberry Park Players version of The Magic Flute (Children's Version). Gelbmann was also the Technical Director for Kumu Kahua Theatre for six seasons and built over 36 shows, of which he designed 10 sets. Gelbmann moved to South Florida in 2007, joining Nova Southeastern University as a Visiting Professor, and then the following fall as an Assistant Professor.

Gelbmann has created many designs for NSU, and his scenic credits include: Bat Boy: The Musical, A Piece of My Heart, Doubt, Stop Kiss, and Dead Man Walking. Lighting design credits include: Freckleface Strawberry, Dance works 2007-PresentThe Importance of Being Ernst, Baby The Musical, and Cinderella. Gelbmann was the resident scenic designer for The Promethean Theatre. Highlights of his work for The Promethean Theatre include: Cannibal The Musical, Three Days of Rain, The Dumb Waiter, Still the River Runs, Evil Dead The Musical, and Dumb Show. He has also designed the lighting for Mosaic Theatre and Thinking Cap Theatre. His most recent professional work has been in sound engineering for the Miniaci Performing Arts Center, Rising Starz Academy, and Broadway Kids.
