College Teaching (2016)
  • Colleen Swain, University of Texas at Tyler
Abstract
The article discusses a study on use of protocols for enhancing student conversation in colleges. It states application of National School Reform Faculty (NSRF) protocols to guide class discussions for adult learners, and mentions that protocols provide predetermined procedures to guide questioning and discussions. It notes a silent protocol that allows students to respond to questions as well as get up and move around the classroom.
