Abstract
Attachement is discussed in the context of the formative years of early childhood education and the implications of impact Child Care Centres can have on the provision of healthy attachment experiences within the pre-school child. Particular attention is given to defining the primary function of attachment, the various forms it can take and the ways through which Child Care Centres can ensure a secure attachment environment.
