About Clara Irazabal

My work departs from a normative premise: Planning should be emancipatory—lead to outcomes that liberate us from oppressive socio-spatial conditions. My research seeks to expose guises under which planning fails to deliver on its emancipatory promise and points to ways of overcoming this planning paradox. Subthemes:
• Planning in Latino Communities
• Planning in Latin America
• Planning and Architectural Theory
