Serials Librarian
(2007)
Abstract
In the spring of 2005 the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's implementation of MetaLib, SearchSpot, was rolled out to the public. In order to notify the university's faculty and staff of its existence, the library employed a multi-pronged marketing campaign. This article discusses the branding of SearchSpot and a variety of promotional avenues. It also reviews the literature dealing with marketing and federated search implementations at other institutions.
