Abstract
Arthurianism in Early Plantagenet England remains a pioneering work that looks at the Arthurian legend from an unusual angle. The result might be of more long-term interest to historians who are interested in the English kings’ use of this widely popular and enduring component of medieval culture. On the other hand, perhaps it will inspire further inquiry into the tensions between medieval art and the art of the possible.
