Christopher Prendergast earned his BA from Brooklyn College (CUNY) in 1970 and his PhD from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale in 1979. He is a Past President of both the Illinois Sociological Association and the Midwest Sociological Society. He has been teaching social theory, social organization, and urban sociology at Illinois Wesleyan University since 1985.
