Abstract

References to mathematics in popular culture can reveal, reflect, and even shape how society views mathematics. This session will focus on how student enjoyment of popular culture can alleviate math anxiety, energize shy and quietstudents, and provide a creative introduction to an in depth study of the related mathematics
