Inner Development Goals: An exploration for the sake of life on Earth
Environment Sustainability and Libraries (IFLA section) (2022)

Abstract
Many of us are familiar with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This interactive webinar introduced an international group of librarians to the Inner Development Goals (IDGs) as a critical complement to the SDGs. This research-based framework aims to develop our inner capacity to manage the increasingly complex environment and challenges. After learning about the five frames (below), we formed into breakout groups to explore the skills and qualities supported by the IDGs (e.g. self awareness, sense-making, humility, communication, courage).
1 - Being - Relationship to self
2 - Thinking - Cognitive skills
3 - Relating - Caring for others and the world
4 - Collaborating - Social skills
5 - Acting - Driving change
