Professor Charlotte Tschider is joining the Loyola University Chicago School of Law as an Assistant Professor this year. She was most recently a Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Nebraska College of Law for the 2019-2020 school year and the Jaharis Faculty Fellow in Health Law and Intellectual Property at the DePaul University College of Law from 2018-2019. Her primary scholarship is in information privacy, cybersecurity law, and artificial intelligence, with a focus on the global health care industry.

Professor Tschider is the author of International Cybersecurity and Privacy Law in Practice (Wolters Kluwer 2018), which will be published in its second edition in 2021, and of Cybersecurity Law: An Interdisciplinary Problem (West 2020, with Derek Bambauer, Gus Hurwitz, and David Thaw). Her academic writing have appeared or are forthcoming in the Washington University Law Review, BYU Law Review, Denver Law Review, the Oxford Journal of Law & Biosciences, and chapters in the ABA’s The Law of Artificial Intelligence and Smart Machines (2019), amongst others. She has appeared on NPR’s All Things Considered and has been featured in a variety of news media publications, including USA Today, Forbes, The Hill, and Morning Consult.

Prior to her time in academia, Tschider served in various upper management and consultative capacities in information technology, cybersecurity, privacy, and legal compliance, for Target Corporation, Carlson Wagonlit Travel, and, most recently, for Medtronic Corporation, for nearly two decades. She holds certifications in the ISC2’s Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and is an IAPP Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) for both the U.S. and the European Union.
