About Charlotte Murphy MD

As a psychiatrist, Charlotte Murphy, MD, cultivates interdisciplinary teams to effectively treat substance use disorders and other conditions. She began her career as a graduate of the University of California San Diego School of Medicine, having previously earned a master of public health from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Charlotte Murphy, MD, completed her psychiatric residency at the UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute, where she built experience in a variety of practice areas including neurology, substance use, and dual diagnosis care. 

Charlotte Murphy, MD, now practices independently in New York City and New Paltz. She offers a variety of services including medication-assisted treatment for patients with opioid addictions. She works closely with pharmacy benefit managers (PBM's) to ensure that her patients get the care that they need, and she frequently works with substance use treatment centers and social workers to provide supplemental support as needed.

Dr. Murphy has served as a guest lecturer in the New Paltz Mental Health Counseling Program, through which she taught psychopharmacology. She has also led as medical director at New Hope Manor, a residential addiction treatment for women. There, she met a variety of patient care needs including recovery during pregnancy and comorbid diagnoses.
