Abstract
This presentation will highlight a graduate-level course for a math specialists program designed using Problem-Based Learning (PBL). The course involves a high degree of synchronous collaboration with mathematics, though the students are scattered across a state. The issue of communicating math symbols on the Internet will be addressed. Hardware and software tools used for online collaboration will be demonstrated. PBL will be introduced. The presentation will be conducted as a group discussion between the presenters and session attendees. Faculty members from institutions of higher education, instructional developers, and instructional designers find the session useful.
