CAHSS Intellectual Conversations
  • Charles Zelden, Nova Southeastern University
Description

This talk focused on Thurgood Marshall’s strategy of using truth to combat entrenched power. It noted the many ways that Marshall sought to pit truth against power, and also discussed the success and failures of this strategy. More broadly, this presentation sought to evaluate the ever-shifting balance that must be struck between accepting the realities of truth and abiding by the precedents of power in the maintenance of a well-ordered society.
