About Charles Nagle

Dr. Nagle teaches courses on Spanish language and linguistics and applied linguistics. He enjoys engaging students in practical, data-driven activities that encourage them to explore and develop their own interests. His main area of research is in second language (L2) pronunciation. In broad terms, his work examines L2 pronunciation development as a dynamic process that changes in response to a range of factors, including the type, quantity, and quality of instruction that learners receive and their goals for language learning. His other interests include research methods in second language acquisition (SLA), particularly longitudinal approaches to SLA and the application of advanced statistical models to SLA data.
