Abstract

Previous descriptions of Pentametrocrinus atlantis (Perrier) disagree with new material and with specimens already reported upon. The species is redescribed and the discrepancies between this report and those of earlier authors are discussed. The known distribution is extended in the western Atlantic to the Blake Plateau and is found to correspond with that of deep-water, ahermatypic coral banks.
