About Charles A. Gillespie

Charles A. Gillespie, Ph.D. is an assistant professor of Catholic Studies in the College of Arts and Sciences at Sacred Heart University. As of 2023 he has been named the Director of the Pioneer Journey. Professor Gillespie completed his Ph.D. in religious studies in May 2019 with a dissertation centered on drama, credibility, and twentieth-century theology. He focuses on interlacing religion and the arts for classrooms, theatre spaces, and public life.
