About Cecilia Marzabadi

I have been at Seton Hall University since 1999. My training is in organic chemistry and I teach this subject at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. My research interests are in synthetic organic and carbohydrate chemistry. The work being done by my research group involves the synthesis of small, carbohydrate-based molecules to be used as potential therapeutics. Areas we are currently targeting are molecules for the treatment of epilepsy, other central nervous system disorders, and cancer.
I also study issues related to the recruitment and retention of women in the sciences and mathematics.
