To amends California Health and Safety Code section 116045 by requiring Automated External Defibrillator (AED) units at K-12 schools with pools and public pools where "lifeguard service" is required.

Resulted in AB 735 (Maienschein), to require all public swimming pools that charge a direct fee and are required to provide lifeguard service to provide an AED unit for the lifeguards to use and to require the Department of Education to develop safety guidelines for schools with swimming pools.
