About Catherine Marrs Fuchsel

Catherine Luz Marrs Fuchsel, PhD., LICSW teaches in the graduate social work program and is a bilingual Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in the State of Minnesota. Originally from Lima, Peru, she speaks Spanish fluently and has over 19 years of clinical social work practice experience working with the Latino population in different cities across the country (i.e., Detroit, New York City, Phoenix).</p><p>Dr. Marrs Fuchsel’s research focuses on the prevention of domestic violence among the Latino population, specifically among immigrant Mexican families. She is currently evaluating the (Yes, I Can) Si, Yo Puedo program manual and curriculum for immigrant Latina women in group settings in community-based agencies and police departments. Dr. Marrs Fuchsel provides pro bono mental health consultation at Our Lady of Guadalupe free health clinic in Worthington, MN. Dr. Marrs Fuchsel also provides consultation on domestic violence cases as needed.
