Professor Marshall is an Assistant Professor and Director of the Social Justice in Mental Health Research Lab in the School of Occupational Therapy at Western University. Her research focuses on intersections between poverty and mental health, with a particular focus on homelessness among persons living with mental illness (including substance use disorders). Her teaching interests and experience include courses related to psychosocial determinants of occupation and health, and counselling and group therapy for graduate-level occupational therapy students. These teaching interests build on professor Marshall’s clinical background in mental health, where she has worked as an occupational therapist on assertive community treatment teams, early intervention in psychosis, crisis teams, and in the corrections and forensic mental health systems.
