About Carolyn S. Ridenour

Carolyn S. Ridenour, Professor Emerita, joined the faculty of the School of Education and Health Sciences doctoral program in educational leadership in 1990, the year the charter class was admitted. She was appointed and served as Joseph J. Panzer, S.M., Chair in Education from 2010 to 2013. She taught research methods and data analysis courses as well as courses in cultural diversity and profession development. She chaired over 40 doctoral dissertations over the 24-year tenure of her full time faculty position; and she served as a member of the dissertation committees of many other doctoral candidates. She authored or co-authored numerous research studies published in refereed journals that focused on women and girls’ education, gender issues within schools, school choice, cultural diversity, and research methodology; and, she co-authored a book on mixed methods research based on the interactive continuum of qualitative and quantitative research. She presented her scholarship to over 70 national research conferences as well as dozens of regional academic meetings. She was promoted to Emeritus status in May 2014; and she continues, in 2017, as a part-time faculty member in the PhD in educational leadership program.
